Google launches Pixel, Pixel XL smartphones


Google at its October 4 event at San Francisco, launched Google Pixel and the Google Pixel XL smartphones. With the launch of the two devices, Google has given a break to its 'Nexus' series and has streamlined the naming scheme for all the devices. Both feature aluminium and glass frames and come in black, silver and blue colour variants. 

The Pixel smartphones can be pre-ordered starting today via Google's website and will hit the shelves starting October 20 as per the company. The devices will be avaialble in US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Germany this month and will arrive in India in October 13.

1) 5.5-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels) resolution Amoled display with Gorilla Glass 4
2) Integrated Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor on the back
3) Powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 with 4GB RAM and comes in three storage variants: 32GB and 128GB,  external storage support option is also there
4) 8MP front-facing camera and a 12.3MP rear camera with Sony IMX378 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and a larger 1.55um lens that lets the camera capture more light
5) Also feature Optical Image Stabilisation for smooth video recording along with Smartburst and Lens Blur features
6) 7.33mm thick body in white, grey and aluminium finishes, packs a 3,450mAh battery, also comes with front-facing stereo speakers.

2) Powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 with 4GB RAM and comes in three storage variants: 32GB and 128GB,  external storage support option is also there
3) 8MP front-facing camera and a 12.3MP rear camera with Sony IMX378 sensor, f/2.0 aperture and a larger 1.55um lens that lets the camera capture more light
4) Also feature Optical Image Stabilisation for smooth video recording along with Smartburst and Lens Blur features
